What is the Photobucket Mobile Uploader?

The Photobucket Mobile Uploader is the only way to automatically save all your camera pictures to your Photobucket album. It is currently available for Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile customers. The same great functionality is also available with a different name for users on Alltel, Cellular South, Cincinnati Bell, nTelos, and many other regional carriers (click here to see if your carrier is supported).

The Photobucket Mobile Uploader is designed to fit seamlessly with your picture-taking routine. You simply take pictures with your camera phone, put the phone back in your pocket, and your pictures appear like magic in all the places you want them.

Once you have downloaded the application, take some pictures and try it out! Log into your Photobucket album and your pictures will be there waiting for you in minutes. If you have a Windows Mobile or Blackberry phone, your photos upload automatically at preset intervals. If you have a Java-enabled phone, your photos upload automatically each night. Pictures that come through Photobucket Mobile Uploader are exactly the same quality as when you took them, so you can take full advantage of the camera on your phone.

T-Mobile Customers

In addition to saving photos to your Photobucket account, you can also save your camera phone pictures to your home computer and email account.

How much does it cost?

The Photobucket Mobile Uploader service has a standard fee that varies between carriers. Other than the specific carrier’s fee for the service and standard data charges, there is no additional cost per picture, no matter how many pictures you send. The Photobucket Mobile Uploader is a separate service from MMS and is not involved with phone-to-phone picture messages. To avoid incurring high data charges, it is strongly recommended that you use the Photobucket Mobile Uploader with an unlimited data plan.

Verizon Wireless Customers

See the Verizon Wireless pricing page for details.

To learn more about data plans, see the Verizon Wireless data plan description (also called V CAST) page.

How many photos can I send?

You can send as many photos as you want. Photo size limits are dependent on your Photobucket account type (Free or Pro). See Are there maximum file sizes or lengths for details.

When your Photobucket main album reaches the maximum media limit of 2500, the Photobucket Mobile Uploader service creates a new sub-album to send photos to so you never lose your memories.

Notes:
  • After the service creates a sub-album, it continues to fill and create new sub-albums even if you delete photos from the main album.
  • Sub-albums can only be five levels deep within the root album. For example: myalbum> album1 > album2 > album3 > album4 > album5.

How often do my photos get uploaded?

Verizon Wireless Customers

  • For all Verizon Wireless phones, photos upload immediately.

T-Mobile Customers

  • Blackberry: Uploads every 10 minutes
  • Windows Mobile: Uploads nightly at user-configurable time.
  • Note: If you have an expired trial version, photos do not upload to Photobucket automatically. However, you can manually launch the Photobucket Mobile Uploader to upload your photos to your Photobucket Account.
  • Use the Buy now button shown when you run your application to upgrade to the Pro version of the service and get back your full functionality. If you do not have the full service, photos do not upload to your email Inbox or PC.

You can launch the application whenever you want to upload photos right away.

Note: Uploads may take longer than specified above if you have a weak cellular signal or if you are actively using your phone for voice calls or web browsing.

Can I send photos that are already on my phone?

Yes. The very first time you run the Photobucket Mobile Uploader, it sends all of the photos you have saved on your phone. Any copyrighted materials, such as downloaded wallpapers or graphics, are not uploaded from your phone.

What happens when I’m roaming?

You can use the Photobucket Mobile Uploader anywhere that your phone has service. Depending on your plan, additional charges may apply for data roaming. See How do I stop or pause the Photobucket Mobile Uploader for information.
